Clean the dryer vent system every year.
This is one of the most important thing you can do to maintain your dryer and help prevent fires. Remove the vent from the back of the dryer, clean out any built-up lint.

I was extremely happy with Lint Surgeon’s service and price for cleaning out our dryer vent and ducts. They provided a... two hour window and actually arrived within that window, which was refreshing. The technician was professional, wore a protective face-mask, and was very friendly. He explained what he was going to do and why, and then quickly got to work. We used to use Stanley Steamer, but since we moved to a more rural area, SS became too expensive and their schedule was unpredictable. I am really glad we found Lint Surgeon because they are a local company and are much cheaper than SS even before we moved. Will be using them annually!read more

I would highly recommend this company. They responded quickly to my online inquiry and set me up with an appointment... very quickly. From contact with the office and their onsite technician everything was handled with precision and care. I was unable to use my dryer before they arrived due to fear of a fire or damaging my new dryer. Scott and his assistance performed a clean out of my dryer line after which they determined that air was not flowing... from the dryer hood on the roof. They placed a camera inside and determined that the dryer line was not connected to the hood thus was venting into the attic.Scott then offered to performed a very difficult task in my attic which has very restricted crawl space to reconnect my dryer vent to the outside hood. While in the attic he was proactive enough to take pictures of dryer vent and hood before and after as well as after hook up. He also documented via pictures 3 1/2 years worth of lint that had been accumulating since my roof had been replaced. When I contacted Lint Surgeon regarding a concern I had about my dryer (they had just cleaned my ducts a few months... before), they sent someone to me that very day to diagnose the problem. The issue with my dryer turned out to be something I had done incorrectly, but Scott showed me the issue so I wouldn't make the same mistake again and he didn't charge me for the service call. I was very happy with the promptness of service and how he explained to me what to look for and what to do in the future if I encounter the same problem. Great customer service...thorough cleaning...highly recommend. SHOCKED at the amount of lint pulled out. Some of it... was soaked because of the clogs in the venting. Technician took the time to explain why and what happened and put a little sticker on dryer as a reminder for next service time...also let us know they will email or call in a year to remind us. Outstanding service! Our new dryer was not drying clothes, and we had never had our vents cleaned. I had no idea what... company to use, so we randomly chose The Lint Surgeon. We are glad we did! Absolutely outstanding service by Scott! He was on time and had a professional, courteous and pleasant personality. He... is smart too, about everything! He not only cleaned the dryer vent without leaving lint from the roof vent scattered all over the grass (like our experience with the very expensive Stanley Steamer vent cleaning), but he switched locations of the washer and dryer for better placement, removed the dryer door to change it to open on the right side instead of the left, cut the way too long silver vent, added better steel ring attachments to it on both ends and sawed to a much shorter length the tube it attaches to on the wall. These guys go above and beyond. This is the fourth time I've hired a service to clean our upstairs dryer vent and by... far, this was the most thorough and professional experience.
